ARTIST ROOMS On Tour is a partnership between Tate, Arts Council England, Art Fund and Creative Scotland. The collection is jointly owned by Tate and the National Galleries of Scotland. This partnership makes the collection of international modern and contemporary art available to see in galleries across the United Kingdom. Some exhibits are already underway, such as the Richard Long exhibit (Burton Art Gallery and Museum, Bideford) that ended on 10th January and the Louise Bourgeois exhibit that is currently on show (Southampton City Art Gallery, Southampton) until 18th April 2015.
I am particularly excited to see Jeff Koons’s exhibit in my home city (Norwich Castle Museum, Norwich) and so I have already secured myself a ticket for the opening morning (an under 18s ticket was just £4+P&P!) I also plan on visiting the Andy Warhol exhibit (Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery, Peterborough) but would love to trek up north to see the works of Roy Lichtenstein (Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh) and Damien Hurst (The Pier Arts Centre, Orkney).
